Fox Walden has released the second poster (following the teaser) for their upcoming adaptation City of Ember. I must say, besides making me think of the poster for Journey to the Center of the Earth, this poster just bores me.

Judging by the date at the bottom I’m guessing this might be an international poster. Still, that’s no excuse for bad artwork. There’s been so many amazing posters out this year that I think they really dropped the ball with this one.
For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights. But Ember’s once powerful generator is failing… and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Now, two teenagers in a race against time, must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city’s existence, and help the citizens escape before the lights go out forever.
City of Ember stars Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Toby Jones and Harry Treadaway and is directed by Gil Kenan.
City of Ember is set for theatrical release on October 10th, 2008.

Judging by their positions, I think they both fall to their death or at least thier disfigurement.

Not to mention this doesn't remind me of a single scene from the book at all

Doesn't everyone know by now that movies (from novels) are nothing like the books? I thought we knew this… lol

Don't say that! I'm still holding out for “Time Traveler's Wife.” It HAS to be good!
