Seven and a Half Minutes of The Day the Earth Stood Still

Last night’s repeat of the Fringe premiere also included a sneak peak at The Day the Earth Stood Still. From all reports it’s the same footage they showed at Comic-Con but better edited. In case you missed it, I thought I’d give you a chance to check it out.

I can’t decide if this footage was a good move or a bad move. It’s basically just a glorified trailer. I can already hear people saying that it looks boring and underwhelming, but I personally thought it did a decent job of setting up the story without giving away too much of the action (which is what they usually do). Then again, maybe there isn’t much action to give away…?

The film stars Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, John Cleese, and Jaden Smith.

The Day the Earth Stood Still hits theaters on December 12, 2008.
