That’s right, it’s time for the National Football League to kick off the 2008 season. Yes, I know, there was a game last night, but true fans know deep down inside that SUNDAY is the real start date.
NFL Football is big in our house. We get The Ticket from DIRECTV and Sundays are dedicated to 90% football and 10% The Amazing Race/Dexter. The day begins with a big breakfast, then it’s NFL Countdown and finally The Games.
We have our traditions, and I want to know about yours. The question is:
What, if any, traditions do you have for NFL Football?
I want to know if you do anything special for Sundays, what you like to cook on the grill, what your favorite beer is and who your favorite team might be! Tell us everything!
Even if you don’t watch much football, I still would like to know what kind of beer you drink and what your favorite thing is to grill on the barbecue.
For me, I love a yummy breakfast with scrambled eggs and diced up little smokies, toast, possibly waffles, and of course, bacon. We’ll grill burgers or brats around midday and I usually have a Kiltlifter or two.
If you’ve never heard of a Kiltlifter, it’s a local beer from the Four Peaks Brewery and I haven’t tasted anything better.
What about you guys?

Man, you guys get pretty fancy for your football.
We just turn on the TV and watch it. If we have beer, we drink it. If we're hungry, we eat. No fuss. Just total Cowboys domination.
You guys sound like a couple of Forrest Gumps
ok… that was worth a point (though Jasons comment made me laugh first…)
I love everything about this coming Sunday… there is nothing like the first full day of football. You have to plan ahead the food and stuff, so that nothing can distract you from the goodness of watching an entire day of pigskin madness. Bring it on!
It blows my mind that Arizona fans are this excited about the start of the season…
Get home from church…catch the second half of the 1 o'clock game and start watching. Found a new beer that i love. http://www.newbelgium.com/beers_bk.php If you like Kiltlifter or Fat tire you will like this.
I hated getting home last night and only getting to watch the fourth quarter of the game. I hate when they start games at 4 eastern. With the double header on Monday night they will do it again. I can understand 5, but 4 is to early.
Used to watch 8hrs of football on sundays with the food and beer going to bars setting up the shrines and then had kids and I am lucky to catch part of a game unless I DVR it and watch after hours.

We like football in general, plus I'm in two fantasy leagues, so it's all
good!
Cause we have famous world champion Kurt warner as our starting quarterback, why wouldnt we be this excited and amped up!!!
as opposed to the inside joke of the Capn's wife commenting to Jinas great speech she gave about Sunday football and spending time with her husband and its a great time and such and such and the Capns wife looked at Jina and said …”Why?!?!”….
lol…. hi5 to Jina!
Kurt Warner? Did he lose a bet or something?
How have the playoffs gone for you lately? How's Romo doing? Still fumbling holds for field goals?
We are training Lyla now (in the womb) to like football, so that when she comes, she will enjoy sitting with us on Sundays watching the game. I think her first words will be: I love Chris Berman!
If your baby says she loves chris berman you better get an exorcism.
No… that would be if she says “I love Chris Collingsworth”
“Ramblin, smumbling, tummmling!”
Sorry can't stand Berman, Collinsworth doesn't trouble me. Just make sure
she doesn't turn into a cowboys or broncos fan.
Just tell me you don't like Stuart Scott plllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssse
You still remember what the playoffs are?
I guess it's hip to hate the Cowboys (the greatest team in the NFL), but the Broncos? I didn't know they were on anyone's hate list.
I have hated the Cowboys since I was a wee lad and continue to this day.
Broncos because of Mike Shanahan looking like a rat, the mile high salute,
and there are so many damn fans here in Az, plus they beat the Packers in
the Super Bowl.
Kind of, but listen: There are no expectations for greatness from people besides us die-hard Cards fans…however, the Cowboys are supposed to win every year, and they keep blowing it
I hate Stuart Scott
Comparing greatness to expected mediocrity is hardly fair. We can't win EVERY year. But soon.
Romo, TO and company better make their big move this year. I'm getting a little tired of seeing all that talent collapse in the first or second round of the playoffs.
Definitely have to agree with that.
