TV Talk: Tuesday Night

Another great episode of Fringe on Tuesday night, along with a bunch of other stuff that I normally don’t or lacked the time.

Sadly I forgot to add The Mentalist to my DVR list, so I didn’t get to check that out, nor did I record House like I promised a friend I would just because he watched Fringe based on my recommendation.

Talk about last night’s shows and what you thought of the latest episodes! Or heck, talk about anything you recently watched even if it was on another night.

  1. *SPOILERS*

Great episode of Fringe tonight…not sure if the bald man will be in future episodes, but it kind of seems like he might be. He's sort of like the Cigarette Smoking Man for the X-Files maybe?

Scott makes a surprising appearance at the end, but to what effect?

Just an overall awesome episode, might be the best one so far. Good stuff between the father and son, and I liked Joshua Jackson way more than in another other episode thus far.

  2. Oh, btw, don't forget Pushing Daisies and Friday Night Lights tonight!

  3. FRINGE - Pretty good episode. I didn't care much for the storyline. But I liked the characters introduced (Bald Man) and the conflict with Peter and his father. Not to mention Walter going all psycho. Didn't see that coming, but I should have expected it. Did anyone understand what the vibrating toy actually did? All I saw was the thing going into the ground.

The Mentalist - You see the way she tackled that guy? He was definitely getting a little nervous there for a second. Can you imagine witnessing something like that? Being in the actual hotel room? I would be freaking out. Luckily he has the law on his side and just a phone call away. I swear the way they showed the knife on the ground at the end, they made it appear like the guy was going to get up and stab Teresa in the back. I was waiting for it to happen.

I didn't think the owners would have had anything to do with it. I was thinking the girl “friend” was going to turn out to be a lesbian. She made a move but things didn't work out. She get's upset etc. Pretty good episode. The gun shot sound effects were a little off though. I hope they don't have Patrick always right and the hypnotizing can get old quickly if they always use it and if it always works.

  4. I'm with Sean on last night's episode of Fringe. The “toy” storyline was a bit of a let down compared to previous eps. They didn't have any theories or an explanation for its purpose/existence, it wasn't linked to anything Walter or William Bell experimented with in the 70s, it (seemingly) had no ties to Massive Dynamic and didn't add anything new to the 'the pattern' mythology.

Also, you'd think they would have had at least one reference or line of dialog at the end of the ep about the advanced weapon the bad guy used. Even if it were just a short scene of the gun being handed over to MD for analysis. For an advanced weapon that could take out so many top level government special ops personnel, you'd think the military (or NSA, CIA, FBI, etc.) would be VERY interested in that technology.

This ep seemed to serve two functions, 1) introduce “the observer” character; and 2) to fill in a little backstory on Walter and Peter.

    Not much else was achieved.

  5. My dvr didn't get the last 120 seconds of Fringe. Right after Walter describes being saved by Baldy. Last words I got: “Hello Liv.” and than GONE! did I miss a line? anything happen?

  6. I watched America’s next Top Model and 90210. It seems that I watched more reality shows then any other show these days. I really like the new 90210 remake but I don’t think it compares to the original show. I love to see Tori Spelling and some of the guys back on the show. It’s good to see Jennie Garth and Shannon Doherty working together again.
