Universal Pictures has given the greenlight to Couples Retreat, a film written by Jon Favreau. Favreau will also star and will be reteamed with his Swingers and Made co-star, Vince Vaughn, in the comedy that will also feature Jason Bateman and Faizon Love.
The story follows four couples who go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there to play but soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional.
Apparently, the idea for the film came from Vaughn who was also responsible for the idea behind the 2006 hit, The Break-Up, in which he starred with Jennifer Aniston. Of course, if you’ve seen Vaughn and Favreau together you know how funny they can be. As most of you know, I’m also a big fan of Jason Bateman so I think the cast for this is superb.
Iron Man fans shouldn’t fear, though. Favreau is squeezing this acting gig in before work gets started on Iron Man 2 so there’s no need to worry that he won’t be working on that film as director. Couples Retreat is actually being prepped to start production in late October in Bora Bora and Los Angeles.

Wooo! Looking forward to this one.
“Iron Man fans shouldn’t fear, though. Favreau is squeezing this acting gig in before work gets started on Iron Man 2 so there’s no need to worry “…. am I that transparent?!?… I mean my favorite color is clear….
That's MONEY!
LOL - I did write that just for you!
It doesn't matter what those two do… I would see it. Add a little Jason Bateman, and I'm sold!
