I don’t think any of us were surprised when Kevin Smith’s film Zack and Miri Make a Porno was first given an NC-17 rating. You gotta figure any movie from Kevin Smith about two people making a porno is probably going to have to fight for an R (which it did, and won). But it seems that even the artwork for this film is too much for the states as the first poster for Zack and Miri Make a Porno has been banned.
Apparently Canada doesn’t share our American qualms about showing simulated sex on a movie poster as the poster was released in that country. EW.com posted an article about the whole thing along with the actual poster in question.
I can’t really say that it’s that bad, yet I can see why you wouldn’t want this poster hanging in the hallway of the local multiplex next to a poster for the next Harry Potter either. Generally I’m against censorship on this type of scale. I think business such as cinemas should have enough sense not to post the poster where kids might see it. Then again, there’s some real dimwits out there so there’s no way this poster wouldn’t get posted somewhere inappropriate and cause a stir if it were approved.
At the end of the day, you know it was just a cheap publicity stunt anyway.

“I think business such as cinemas should have enough sense not to post the poster where kids might see it. ” …and where would that be? Next to the candy displays or video games?
Yeah, good point.
Will a 7 year old understand that poster?? It's not bad at all little kids would have no idea what it's about…..there would be more questions about the word porno
That's probably true. Wouldn't you like to hear THAT conversation at the local movie theater!
