We already know that John Cusack is playing the male lead in Roland Emmerich’s next world disaster flick, 2012. And we also know that he’s being joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt. Well, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we now know that Amanda Peet has landed the female lead in the film.
The film revolves around a global cataclysm and the heroic struggle of the survivors. Peet is playing Cusack’s ex-wife, recently remarried to a wealthy man. Cusack plays a divorced father trying to become a writer while holding a job as a limo driver. Some of this sounds familiar…
Barring an actors strike, 2012 will shoot in July and is scheduled for a July 10, 2009 release.

I seriously just love disaster movies, this should be fun, like the cast so far
Is it me or does her picture above look like she is about to hunt down Decker from Bladerunner?!?! She has a striking resemblance to Daryl Hannah's character but without the makeup… maybe its just me on a Friday the 13th cause that picture looks scary!!
How come they aren't releasing it in 2012?
I like Amanda Peet and John Cusack… this could be cool.
cause the world is ending then and we wont be around to see it then silly….
Of course it will be cool, cause there is going to be global freezing involved…
I seriously think they should release this in 2011 - just to give us a good scare.
And that's a bad thing how…?
That's a good idea. Of course you're always full of good ideas.
(Today's Father's day. I had to give him something.)
