The American Idol Results show for week 11 of Season 7 live performances whittled the contestants down by one more and gave the four remaining a 25% shot at being named the next American Idol.  Neil Diamond theme week ended up being almost as bad as Andrew Lloyd Webber week, but most of the talk centered on the judges as Paula managed to critique a performance that hadn’t even occurred yet.

Week eleven of American Idol 2008 live performances kicked off last night with our top five American Idol finalists performing two songs each.  This week’s theme was Neil Diamond songs.  Last week we said goodbye to Carly Smithson who was an early favorite in the competition so the top five know they are down to the wire and in the home stretch.  They each have a 20% shot at being named the next American Idol.

The American Idol Results show for week 10 of Season 7 live performances saw the contestants cut by one more and left us with only 5 hopefuls remaining.  The results this week were surprising to almost everyone, but I’m not going to say they were totally unexpected.  With only six contestants remaining in the show, there was a better than average chance that this week’s ousted contestant would be an “upset.”

Week eight of America Idol 2008 live performances brings us the Top 8 contestants fighting to stay in the game.  With pretty much all of the weaker competition now out of the running, the contestants have no choice but to step up their game if they want to stay alive.  This week was Inspirational Song week so the Idol hopefuls had plenty of song choices to pick that perfect song for their style.  As usual, however, some did better than others.
