With her very obvious pregnancy and upcoming maternity leave, Amy Poehler has announced that she wont be returning to Saturday Night Live after the newborn baby arrives.
This is probably something we all should have seen coming, especially with her upcoming Office spinoff series in 2009. But she’s starting to do more movies and with this branching out into another TV show, it’s greener pastures time for Amy.
I love Amy, and her sketch the other night with Tina Fey will go down as one of my all-time favorite moments on SNL. There are still funny people on the long-running series, but with Fey gone and Amy done after the November elections, the talent is starting to grow thin.
She’s even funny when she’s just announcing things like leaving the show:
“It’s gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday,” she tells the new Men’s Vogue. “SNL was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down.”
What do you guys think? Will you miss Amy, or will you just catch her on the new Office spinoff and not even worry about it?

I will miss Amy. Although sometimes, even with her, I don't know why I am watching SNL anymore. It's like 85 minutes of drool, with 5 minutes of something to talk about on Monday. Thank God for DVRs.
