More details on the upcoming Battlestar Galactica TV movie

We’ve got a boatload of new details emerging about the Battlestar Galactica TV movie that was given the green-light a few weeks back. We now know that Adama himself, Edward James Olmos, will be directing, and writer Jane Espenson will be penning the script.

The second bit of news regarding the movie is that we’re not going to see it until after the season finale airs in 2009.

Get ready for a super-sized finish for Battlestar Galactica

The rumors have been circulating for a few weeks now, but TV Guide just confirmed that the remaining episodes of Battlestar Galactica will be “extra-long” or extended editions.

What that means, no one exactly knows yet. There were also rumors of an 11th episode possibly happening, but I haven’t heard anything about that for awhile.

Mike’s Pull List for the week of July 30th

New comic books come out every Wednesday and lately that coincides with the same day I make my weekly appearance at the local comic book store.
Some of you have heard me lament about my lost childhood and the fact that comic books were never a part of it. I’d always talked about how I should [...]

Comic-Con: Battlestar Galactica panel video is up

SciFi.com has posted the video for the entire Battlestar Galactica panel from Saturday.

A heads up though: Kevin Smith moderated, and thus it’s really not safe for work. Or kids.

I missed the first 25 minutes due to my insane plan to live blog the Lost panel and run to BSG an hour and fifteen minutes before it started.

The Battlestar Galactica panel: Live blogging from Comic-Con

This Saturday, July 26th, Battlestar Galactica will hold their round-table panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con and Pop Critics will be there to bring it to you LIVE.

The panel begins at 2:15 PM on Saturday. I will be in attendance and live blogging from the event. According to the schedule, we’ll get discussions from Ron Moore, David Eick, Tricia Helfer, James Callis, Katie Sackhoff and Michael Trucco, with THE Kevin Smith moderating.

The live blogging trial run

I plan on doing a live blog from the Lost panel at Comic-Con on Saturday, but before I do, I need to see how it works and get some feedback from you guys.
This little live blogging trial run begins at 8 AM PST today. You can get an email reminder about it from what I [...]

We Have The Caprica Trailer!

A promo trailer for the Sci Fi Channel’s upcoming movie for the Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, has gone live on Scifi.com. The trailer is the footage that was shown at the Television Critics Association press tour on July 20. This movie will set up the universe for the upcoming series. Of course, we’ve got the trailer for you right here.

Battlestar Galactica back in January and Caprica news

A bunch of news broke at this year’s TCA Awards (Television Critics Association) regarding the world of Battlestar Galactica, including an update about the upcoming spin-off, Caprica.

First off, while we don’t know the exact date yet, January 2009 is when Galactica will return with the final ten episodes. That’s still a good six months off, but at least we can stop wondering what month it will be back.

Battlestar Galactica: Season 4 starts on UHD this Saturday

For those of you way behind the eight ball when it comes to season four of Battlestar Galactica, or if you didn’t have Sci Fi HD yet with your cable/satellite provider, your relief is in sight.

NBC’s Universal HD channel will start playing season four starting this Saturday night with the premiere episode, He That Believeth In Me.

“The Cleaner” premieres tonight on A&E

With Battlestar Galactica done shooting episodes, the former cast members are starting to be seen elsewhere. The first was Tricia Helfer on Burn Notice last Thursday. Next up is Grace Park, who played Sharon “Boomer” “Athena” Agathon Valerii on the hit Sci Fi series

Jane Espenson to pen first “Battlestar Galactica” movie

If you haven’t heard by now, the first of the potential multiple Battlestar Galactica movies has been given the green-light to start production, a joyous blurb of news for fans of the show.

I’m not sure how many we’ll get, but even one movie (plus the webisodes this summer) will be enough to prolong the end of the series for me.

Mojo talks about the last shot in BSG’s finale and more

Darth Mojo is a special effects guy who works on the set of Battlestar Galactica. Not too long ago I posted some images from some long lost scenes in Star Trek: Voyager.

Well, he’s back this week with a pretty sweet breakdown of the final shot of Revelations, the mid-season finale of BSG that ran a few weeks ago.

Michael Turner’s death saddens the comic book world

He was battling cancer for awhile, but died at the very young age of 37. According to what I’ve read, Turner was an exceptional artist, having worked for both DC Comics and Marvel, with covers ranging from Superman/Batman, Civil War and Uncanny X-Men, to Witchblade and Fathom. Some say he was a big reason for Witchblade becoming a popular comic book series.

The Top 10 semifinalists for Emmys in Comedy and Drama

In case you guys are interested, here are the 20 semifinalists in the Emmy categories for Best Comedy and Best Drama series.

Most notably and highly frakking sad in my opinion, is the continued disregard for Battlestar Galactica. I guess not enough people watch the show. I can only assume if it was on FOX, enough people would have seen it and voted it into this group.

Tricia Helfer joins the cast of “Inseparable”

At least we know how Cylons will survive after Battlestar Galactica ends. Apparently they’ll get non-stop work on other TV shows.

Tricia Helfer, who plays the Cylon model Six on BSG, is set to co-star in the Fox drama Inseparable. This comes right on the heels of her stint on Burn Notice this summer.
