Last week we brought you the welcomed news that Esai Morales would be joining the cast of the Battlestar Galactica spin-off prequel, Caprica. Now we have news that Eric Stoltz has signed on to join the cast for the two hour pilot as well.
Stoltz will play Daniel Graystone, a wealthy computer engineer who, after an emotionally crippling family tragedy, uses his technological wizardry to change the future of Caprica. There’s no word on whether his role will extend to the actual series or will only be in the pilot itself.
I find this bit of casting news to be fascinating. I would never have imagined Eric Stoltz as one of the cast for this show. I don’t have a problem with it, though. I think he’s a fine actor who’s really never been given enough credit or had the best roles even though he’s been in about a million different things. Maybe a role on Caprica could give his career a second life.
With this bit of news we also learned that Alessandra Torressani has joined the cast of the pilot. Torressani has had a ton of guest starring roles on TV shows ranging from Malcolm In The Middle to Arrested Development to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She will be playing Daniel Graystone’s daughter, Zoe.

Cannot wait to see this…I’ve heard nothing but good things about the pilot script.
I love Pretty in Pink.
