Variety has done an article that talks about Guillermo del Toro and all of the projects he has in the works and in the article they show that the director is booked through at least 2017 and maybe even longer.

There were those of us who were hoping that Peter Jackson and his amazing writing crew from the Lord of the Rings movies would somehow find their way to help Guillermo del Toro pen the upcoming Hobbit sequels.
Well hope no longer my friends, it’s happened. Del Toro, along with Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, will write the screenplay for The Hobbit, and have actually already started on it.
Guillermo del Toro is gearing up for pre-production on the two-film big screen adaptation of The Hobbit for Warner Bros. Variety is reporting that del Toro will be jumping into that just as soon as his Hellboy II: The Golden Army hits theaters in July. They are also reporting that the studio has already made “preliminary contact” with three of the actors from Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy about reprising their roles for the upcoming prequels.
It seems that everything is right on schedule for Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Alice Sebold’s novel, The Lovely Bones. Recent rumors have speculated that production on the film was shut down due to a rift between Jackson and his art director over the way heaven should look in the film. Today, however, we get news that no such rift ever existed and Jackson and his art director seem to be perfectly simpatico on how heaven should appear.
I haven’t heard news this good since it was confirmed that Peter Jackson was signed on to produce The Hobbit movies. Obviously having him attached to the films makes their potential that much better, but that’s now old news compared to what Elijah Wood told MTV in an interview posted on their site Friday.

Not so long ago I picked up a copy of Alice Sebold’s, The Lovely Bones
, in the bargain bin for $1. I had already heard that Peter Jackson was planning to direct the movie version of “The Lovely Bones” and that Ryan Gosling was set to star so I bought the book without thinking. I actually started reading it this past weekend.
