Harold Ramis Confirms Ghostbusters 3 Is In The Works
Not too long ago we told you that there was some heavy talk about bringing back the original Ghostbusters and having them appear in a new movie along with a new group of Ghostbusters. At the time everyone who should have been involved was saying that it wasn’t true. Now, however, we have more than one reason to believe it is.
This might be too awesome: Superbad and Pineapple Express joint-sequel?
Let me preface this by saying I’ve not seen Pineapple Express yet, but from what I’m hearing, it’s pretty good. First Showing called it “The best stoner comedy…ever?” And Rotten Tomatoes is showing a decent score of 67% so far.
With that being said, it really doesn’t matter to me how good this movie turns out to be. The confirmed news from James Franco that there is a sequel in the works for not only Pineapple Express, but also Superbad AND that they’ll be combined into ONE MOVIE is beyond awesome.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Disappoints As The Dark Knight Retains Top Spot
With The Dark Knight entering its third weekend of release and the $145M summer spectacle known as The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor building on a hugely successful franchise, the predictions had The Dark Knight finishing second for the weekend. But that was before the Caped Crusader showed us he can’t be counted out as The Dark Knight overtook the third Mummy film and retained the number one spot on the charts for the third week in a row. Meanwhile the Kevin Costner starrer, Swing Vote, suffered a dismal debut.
Ghostbusters Set To Return With Original Cast?
Is it possible that a new Ghostbusters could be happening sooner than we think? Is it possible that all of the original Ghostbusters will be in this sequel? Well, this is all wild speculation at this point, but DreadCentral claims they have a very reliable source who says that a new Ghostbusters if very close to becoming a reality and that all four Ghostbusters - Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson - have agreed to return to the franchise.
Huey Lewis does the “Pineapple Express” theme
First it was The Power of Love for Back to the Future, and now Huey Lewis has created a theme song for the new Judd Apatow comedy, Pineapple Express.
It stars Seth Rogan and James Franco, and it’s all about smoking pot and being chased by bad guys. At least, that’s what the trailer looks like.
Second Sherlock Holmes Film Will Be Comedy With Sasha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell
Not too long ago we told you about plans to update Sherlock Holmes for the 21st Century with a film that would possibly be directed by Guy Ritchie. Well, now we hear from Variety that there is another Sherlock Holmes movie in the works and this one is the complete polar opposite of Ritchie’s proposed film.
Apatow’s film with Sandler to be about stand-up comics
Adam Sandler has a movie coming out today, I just gave you my Top 5 Adam Sandler films, and the news concerning him isn’t over yet.
Jason wrote a few months ago about Judd Apatow’s next project, which was to include Sandler and Seth Rogan, along with Leslie Mann.
It sounded good then, just to dream about Sandler possibly doing something great with a guy who knows how to write funny movies.
Jonah Hill writing movie adaptation of “21 Jump Street”
When does the madness stop? Are you kidding me? A 21 Jump Street big screen adaptation?
I know it will never, ever stop, but it doesn’t stop me from wishing people would stop reaching back for old TV shows to make into movies. Like the upcoming A-Team.
Movie Review: “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (2008)
Another chapter in the Judd Apatow family of comedic films, Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a barrel of laughs combined with uncomfortable moments and a few too many shots of Jason Segal’s junk.
You know, his parts.
While the film was produced by Apatow, it was written entirely by Segal, and I have to say he did a [...]
Forgetting Sarah Marshall gets two HUGE thumbs up
As I’ve said before, I tend to align with Richard Roeper from At the Movies with Ebert and Roeper on most of his reviews. Sometimes I disagree with him, like with Sweeney Todd, but those occasions are pretty rare.
So that’s why this past weekend’s episode got me excited for another upcoming Judd Apatow comedy: Forgetting [...]
“Pineapple Express” Teaser Poster with Seth Rogan, James Franco, and Danny McBride
We’ve already posted a couple of trailers and a scene and some pictures and who knows what else for “Pineapple Express” so there’s really no reason to not post the teaser poster as well. Heck, we post every other poster we come across.
New Trailer for “Pineapple Express” with Seth Rogan and James Franco
Initially I wasn’t too crazy about the idea for the film, but after seeing the first trailer I actually starting thinking the film might be pretty funny. If you skipped that trailer or don’t like watching Red Band trailers you might want to check this one out and see what you think.
Apatow To Direct Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan
Variety is reporting that Judd Apatow has agreed to do what no one thought could be done - direct Adam Sandler in a funny movie again.
Apatow has tapped Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann to star in the next comedy he’ll direct. The untitled film will be a co-production of Universal Pictures and [...]
Judd Apatow’s “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” trailer
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is just another in the long line of comedies being done by Judd Apatow and his production company, Apatow Productions (for being such a great comedy writer, you’d think a more original name could have been come up with).
Let’s run down the list of Apatow television/movies in the past 8 years: Freaks [...]
Movie Preview: Drillbit Taylor
From the genius who brought us the movies Knocked Up and Superbad, along with two awesome, underrated TV shows Freaks and Geeks, and Undeclared, comes Drillbit Taylor.
The Judd Apatow movie centers around some poor high school geeks who enlist the help of Owen Wilson to help stop their torment. It’s not out until March 21st, [...]
