Mike Judge To Direct Jason Bateman In New Film “Extract”

Variety is reporting that Mike Judge is finally getting back in the director’s seat and this time he will be directing Jason Bateman. The film will be called Extract and it will be the first project to be produced under Judge’s new production company, Ternion Prods., which he formed with writer-producers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.

Mike Judge, of course, wrote and directed Office Space and Idiocracy and is the creator of “Beavis and Butthead” and “King of the Hill” on television.

Extract is written by Judge. The film “explores what it’s like to be the boss when everything seems to be shifting around you.” That’s the only description that is given. It sounds to me a bit like Office Space from the point of view of one of the bosses. Jason Bateman’s delivery style should be a perfect fit for a Mike Judge comedy so I have high hopes for this one.

Let’s just hope they do a better job distributing this one than was done on his last two feature films which both failed at the box office and had to find their audiences on DVD.

Now, I saw Teen Wolf of course, but yeah, never the sequel…

He should be funny in Hancock I suspect. Let’s hope for an Arrested Development movie coming soon!

  10. I’ve never seen Teen Wolf 2 actually, but come on, it’s just enough that he was in it!

  11. Glad he’s hitting the corporate business setting again–Idiocracy was awful, so hopefully this will be a return to the Office Space sort of comedy.

  12. I thought Idiocracy was fairly funny.

  13. I think Idiocracy was one of those movies that people either liked or hated…

  14. …or thought was somewhere in the middle…
