Dean Koontz is trying to get Odd Thomas as much publicity as he possibly can. First it was a graphic novel that told the story of one of his more popular characters.
Now it’s a movie.
Koontz told the fans at Comic-Con last week about a script he was handed that was “perfect.” An unnamed writer penned it, and apparently an unknown lead has already signed on.
But while he teased fans about it, Koontz wasn’t ready to reveal the name of that actor or anything else.
Odd Thomas is a character now appearing in four books by Koontz, who has said the series will end at seven. Kind of an interesting parallel to The Dark Towers series by Stephen King, which also had seven volumes.
Odd is a person who can communicate with dead people. They can’t talk to him for some reason, but they can hear him and use signs or gestures to help the communication process.
I liked the first book and haven’t read anymore, but the bottom line is that there hasn’t been a single movie adapted from a Koontz novel that has amounted to anything.
It would actually be nice if he gets something good this time around. He’s written countless books, most of which I’ve read, and he deserves one of these movies to turn out decent.

unnamed writer, unknown lead… how very mysterious and… odd!
that's right folks, i'll be here all week.
I've read I don't know how many of his books and they're really good, but you're right, the movies almost always stink. I don't know what it is, but Hollywood just can't seem to convert his stories into movies. We'll see how this goes.
It probably stars Benjamin Linus as the lead…
Whoa, that would be Odd…
Odd Thomas is my favorite character out of the Koontz books that I've read. I hope this is a good one.
Mine is Christopher Snow personally…I wish he would finish the third book already.
See thats my point!!! =)
