According to Variety, Platinum Studios has teamed with Valhalla Motion Pictures to turn the thriller comicbook “Final Orbit” into a feature film.
The comicbook form of “Final Orbit” won’t be be published by Platinum Studios Comics until early next year, but the studio is already hot on the project. The comicbook tells the story of a lottery that gives thrill seekers a chance to vacation aboard a newly completed International Space Station. The vacations turn nightmarish for one group, however, after the station is damaged, trapping tourists in a crippled module with no trained astronauts to help them.
Valhalla chair Gale Anne Hurd and Platinum Studios chairman-CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg will produce.
Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man) will write the script. Gerwirtz’s most recent script credit is the Al Pacino/Robert De Niro starrer Righteous Kill.
Hurd’s Valhalla is a producer on Marvel Studios’ The Incredible Hulk, which opens June 13.
Platinum Studios controls a library of 5,600 comicbook characters and has numerous other comic-driven titles in development. They are currently teaming with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to produce Atlantis Rising at DreamWorks and Unique at Walt Disney Pictures.

That’s a pretty cool storyline. BUT you wouldn’t catch me up there. I’m afraid of heights.
LOL - you only get the sense of height if you are connected to the ground by something. I used to be afraid of heights too, but I always loved to fly because you are detached. I actually took up rock climbing for 5 years in high school and college to help break my fear of heights - good therapy.

At first, this started to sound like the Running Man (Stephen King) short story, so I’m glad that it is not a re-hash of that. This might be pretty interesting. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I am actually beginning to think that this might be something I would ready.
Thinking about it, I guess I did read one comic book series - Ren & Stimpy - those were hilarious.

Yeah, OK Ape. If you say so… If I went rock climbing you would see me pressed up against the rock not able to move and crying for Jesus to come rescue me.
Looking down the 3 stories at the capital building makes my legs weak.
