“Saw V” To Be Released In 2008, “Saw VI” in 2009

SawA few months ago I reported that Lionsgate had hired production designer-turned-director David Hackl and was fast tracking both “Saw V” and “Saw VI” (Lionsgate Planning To Shoot “Saw Vâ€Â? and “Saw VIâ€Â? Back-To-Back?). The rumor at the time was that both might be shot back to back but that the studio might take off 2008 and not release “Saw V” until 2009.

It appears as though the release rumor is false. Lionsgate is now laying claim to October 24th, 2008, for the release of “Saw V” and is looking hard at October 30th, 2009, for the release of “Saw VI.” It’s still uncertain whether or not the films are being shot at the same time or back to back. In order to do so, it would seem that both scripts would have had to be finished before the strike went into effect.

  1. And Saw VII in 2010, Saw VIII in 2011, SAW IX in 2012…etc., etc., etc…

Mike Olbinski’s last blog post..Jack Bauer goes to jail?like that could hold him

  2. Saw will end up just as American Pie did. Make a new movie every year… Hope it will be more and more creepy and bloody :D
icehero’s last blog post..Cel Mai Bun Browser - FireFox

  3. I Saw ”Saw”, lol, the first, the second, the third and the fourth, they were…they are great movies!! I can’t wait to see the fifth and the sixth parts ‘cuz all I’ve seen ’till now has been great (not like american pie, bands camp is a movie I regret havin’ watch)… So all those who say that Saw V, VI, or even VII, VIII, IX or as many as Lionsgate shoot from now on are gonna be more of the same may not be that far from the truth, but that’s the great part of it, they are great movies and if the upcoming parts are like them they will also be great…

  4. Gurux, thanks for stopping by…I wrote a review on Saw IV that comes out tomorrow, you probably wont like it, but curious what you think anyways :)

  5. I don’t know if it’s curious or not, I just think that every movie (great ot really boring) will have fans, at least one, that will defend it ’till it’s last breath, that’s what I’ll do with Saw, all of them, ‘cuz I really enjoy watchin’ this kind of movies, I know that there are many like me that think Saw is a good movie and, just like me, have seen them each of them more than one time, I accept your not likin’ this movies, but I also think that doesn’t give anyone the right to critizise the people who like them… I’ll read your review, but I probably won’t say anything about it, I’ll jus respect what you think…
PD: I apologise for my writtin’ I’m argentinian so I don’t have a good english lol

  6. Your writing is great for being Argentinian!

I loved the first movie for sure, Saw was awesome and it got me hooked. I think my thing with the sequels has been the “twists” they put in at the end have gotten a bit over the top for me…

Anyways, there are still fun to watch and I’ve seen every one :)

  7. ihave been haunted by its amazing plots since i first watched it.saw remains the best horror film that has ever been produced .i am longing to watch the fifth one.

  8. I agree 100% with Gurux. I’ve seen all of the SAW films (1-5) and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all. Each one has added a little more to the mystery of what is beghind Jigsaw’s MO, and we will find out by SAW VII. After that, there will be no more SAW films. In the past few weeks I’ve done a lot of research (on all 5 SAW films) and there is so much that I’ve overlooked that it’s amazing, so now when I rewatch the movies I’m taking in so much more.

There’s a lot more to this movie than just the blood and gore of Jigsaw’s traps.
