I actually think Shutter (official site) looks kind of interesting and scary. There’s something about the idea of taking pictures and there being something in the picture that you couldn’t see when you took the picture… Of course, I think we’ve actually seen this idea before.

According to the IMDB, Shutter is about a newlywed couple named Ben and Jane who move to Japan for a promising job opportunity - a fashion shoot in Tokyo. During their they experience a tragic car accident on a dark forest road which leads to the death of a young local girl. Upon regaining consciousness, they find no trace of her body. A bit distraught, the couple arrives in Tokyo to begin their new life. Meanwhile, Ben begins noticing strange white blurs in many of his fashion shoot photographs. Jane believes that the blurs are actually spirit photography of the dead girl who they hit on the road, and that she may be seeking vengeance.
Shutter stars Joshua Jackson, Rachael Taylor and a bunch of other people you’ve never heard of. It’s set to hit theaters on March 21, 2008.

This movie will blow just like all the other cookie-cutter PG-13 “horror” movies released in the past couple years.
It’s hard to dispute your logic. You’re probably right.
It seems to me that revenge is always the motivation of evil in these movies. I just don’t find revenge scary, it’s more a petty thing.
