Snow Angels (official site) has been getting a lot of great buzz from the festival circuit. I’m a really big fan of Sam Rockwell (he was even great in a supporting role in The Assassination of Jesse James) so I was interested in this film from the moment I heard about it. After seeing the preview I think this is definitely going on my “must see” list.

Snow Angels is adapted from the novel of the same title by Stewart O’Nan. It’s really two stories of love and loss converging. One is of a recently separated couple attempting to pick up the threads of a future when faced with tragedy. The second is about an awkward young man, currently in the throes of discovering his first romance, forced to deal with the separation and subsequent strife of his parents’ relationship.
Snow Angels stars Sam Rockwell, Kate Beckinsale, Michael Angarano, Olivia Thirlby, and Nicky Katt. It is directed by David Gordon Green.
It went into limited release on March 7, 2008.
Yeah, been hearing that this might be one of the best movies this year so far.
Mike and I have seen really good things about this. It’s been on our list to see… but is limited release. We might have to make the trip to the indie theater soon, so he can write a review for Pop Critics.
