In case you missed the news, The Simpsons’ cast inked a deal with Fox that extend their contracts another four years and ensures that the cartoon will make its 20th season.
That ties it with Gunsmoke for the longest running primetime show in history.
I mean, I was 13 years old when the show first premiered on the brand new Fox network. My parents kept me away from the station for the most part, because of some more “adult oriented” shows like Married with Children and 21 Jump Street, but I for some reason remember Werewolf and Beans Baxter.
Still, I never really got into The Simpsons, even though every single time I watched it made me laugh.
To be entering its 20th season is remarkable and astounding in this day and age of quick cancellations.

Wow - 20 years. That’s crazy. Good for them though, that’s huge, particularly for an animated series.

Beans Baxter… what the heck?!
The Simpsons used to be my favorite show, but I rarely watch it although I DVR it. I thought the movie was good, much better than I anticipated.
This is a great news for me. I love to see this crazy family series.
