Movie Review: Burn After Reading (2008) by Mike
Whatever the legacy is that the Coen brothers leave with their latest film, Burn After Reading, at least college students will have a new method in which to partake in drinking games. It will go down with such legendary contests like the number of Roxanne/Put on the Red Lights said during that famous Police song.
This new version will be called the John Malkovich ‘What the F*ck’ Drinking Game, which should end up with most players completely trashed after only a few minutes.
Enter the Burn After Reading Contest!
The Burn After Reading contest we told you about on Friday is now open and awaiting your winning entries. The contest features some cool prizes that will be given to five lucky Pop Critics readers.
Burn After Reading is the latest Coen brothers movie and it features a sick cast: Brad Pitt, Francis McDormand, George Clooney, John Malkovich and Tilda Swinton. Jason and I have been following the movie very closely because that cast coupled with the Coens can only mean greatness.

New Burn After Reading Poster Is Artsy-Retro
A while back we published a couple of posters for Burn After Reading that I thought were interesting. They made us take them down for whatever reason, but now we’ve got another one to show you. This one continues the artsy-retro sort of look.
Two New Posters For “Burn After Reading”
Last month we brought you the first poster for the Coen Brothers’ new film, Burn After Reading, and it was a fantastic throwback to some classic film posters from days gone by. For some reason, however, the studio felt it necessary to come up with a couple of new posters as well.
High quality teaser for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”
Not too long ago, we told you guys about the upcoming Christmas movie dubbed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It stars Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, along with Julia Ormond and Elle Fanning, and is directed by David Fincher.
There was a pirated teaser available for the movie at that time, but it was very, very ugly, and subtitled, so I withheld it from your eyes, in order to one day give it to you with the beauty and quality it deserves.
“Burn After Reading” poster released
The first poster for Burn After Reading is absolutely awesome.
Posted first on Cinematical, I found it on First Showing where they tell us that the artwork for this poster is based off that of Saul Bass, who designed legendary posters for movies like Vertigo, West Side Story, North By Northwest and more. You can see some of those old posters over on First Showing.
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” with Brad Pitt
Having never heard of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button before I saw the teaser for it during the midnight showing of Indiana Jones, I had to research it because it was a stunning preview.
The film is a fantasy adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story of the same name. The plot involves a man named Benjamin Button who is born old and ages backwards. From a small and crippled old man, he becomes young and begins to enjoy life as he gets married, has kids, ends up in high school, grade school and even younger.

New Prince Caspian poster!
The next movie in the Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian, is set to hit theaters on May 16th. It’s getting some pretty good buzz so far and many think it’s going to be a bit darker than the first one, which is something appealing to me.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed The Lion, the [...]
