Fox Walden has released the second poster (following the teaser) for their upcoming adaptation City of Ember.  I must say, besides making me think of the poster for Journey to the Center of the Earth, this poster just bores me.

Has Oliver Stone Really Come To This? - New Trailer For W.

Remember when Oliver Stone used to make good movies?  That was back before he decided that he’d join the Michael Moore school of filmmaking and just make a joke filled spectacle of partisan hate mongering designed more to turn elections than to entertain audiences.  That was when he made movies like Platoon, Wall Street, JFK, and even Natural Born Killers that made us think he actually had something to say about the world - even if it did seem a little strange sometimes.  That was before W.

“City Of Ember” Movie Trailer With Bill Murray

The other day Mike mentioned a movie called City Of Ember that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention.  He gave us some info on it as well as some pics and a really cool poster.  The movie doesn’t come out until October so it’s sort of being overwhelmed by the big summer movies, but I saw the newly released trailer today and I think this little film just might surprise us.  It actually looks really good.

I hadn’t heard a single thing until The Movie Blog discovered it, but there is a new film due out in October called City of Ember, based off the book of the same title.

The plot seems interesting, but I am wondering if it’s more of a kids movie with the two teenage central characters.
