I have to be honest. I don’t have much use for Kevin Smith movies. I really don’t think they’re very good. I don’t understand people who think they are. I have yet to hear an intelligent argument as to why anyone thinks his movies are well made or really even worth the price of admission. Sure, he has a way with words and he puts a lot of them into the mouths of his characters. Unfortunately, most of the words are vile and disgusting in some form or fashion and have little redeeming value. That’s just my opinion.
His latest flick is sure to be another Kevin Smith “classic.” Zack and Miri Make a Porno is getting a lot of attention and a lot of buzz, mostly because it’s about, well, people making a porno, and it stars Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks.
They’ve just released our first look at the film. It’s a Red Band teaser and it is definitely not safe for work…or for home… Better watch this one with headphones on in the dark and by yourself.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno hits theaters on October 31, 2008.

I first saw “Clerks” a couple years ago. Yeah, that movie sucked. Sorry Mike. I didn’t understand why everyone thought it was so good when it came out.
It was hilarious…and was unique and different than most things out there. If you couldn’t appreciate the brilliance of the Death Star conversation, I guess you probably wouldn’t like the movie

Yeah, sorry, I stand by my statements. I have plenty of friends who think he’s great and I’ve heard the arguments, but I don’t get it. I’ve seen all the movies and his filmmaking is mediocre at best. His dialog writing skills is unique, but I can’t say he’s good. His characters tend to talk in a way that no real person ever would, and, like I mentioned, they usually say thinks that are just disgusting. Unless you want to say Dogma is some sort of statement about the Catholic church or religion in general I don’t even think he really has anything valuable to say - or at least, he hasn’t said it yet. I don’t really find his brand of humor amusing.
That’s just my opinion, of course.
If characters in movies or TV talked the way real people do, no one would watch them
But that’s cool, not everyone likes his stuff…but they were entertaining at least.
