Most of you have probably already heard by now that Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi have agreed to return for a fourth and a fifth installment of the Spider-Man franchise. What you might not have heard, however, is exactly what Tobey Maguire is ...

Don LaFontaine is a name that will likely come as a strange one to the average person. If you can identify who he is and what he’s famous for, you are probably in the minority.
But if you could hear him speak one sentence, you’d recognize him instantly.
I’m embarassed to say that I knew the name vaguely when I heard it today, but couldn’t place it. But once I read he was the King of Voiceovers, I remembered who he was and was suddenly bummed out by the news that he passed away on Monday.

I’m not sure we’d ordinarily report on something like this, but I find it highly ironic that David Duchovny plays a sex-obsessed character on the Showtime series Californication and he has now checked himself into a clinic to be treated for sex addiction.

(this post may take some time to load because I didn’t know when to stop posting pictures - Photos courtesy of FOX)
Fox recently did a pretty awesome photoshoot of their young talented actors and actresses from their Fall/Winter slate of shows. It was called So Fresh, So Fox and featured about a bazillion photos of these stars from some of your favorite series.

We all knew Michael Phelps could make a splash in the pool but who knew he’d make such a splash on TV? Phelps’ pursuit of a record breaking eight gold medals in one Olympics has been the story of the Olympics so far and has now contributed to NBC’s largest audience on a Saturday in 18 years.

My name is Rainn Wilson and I’ve kidnapped the lovely Jenna, put her, bound, in the trunk of my firebird and logged onto her MySpace to send out this bulletin.
To free America’s sweetheart, Pam Beesly, one half of the magic which is ‘Jam’, you must attend my new movie, ‘The Rocker’, which opens August 20th.
As soon as the film grosses 18.7 Mil, she will be released and given a peach smoothie.

Maybe Robert Downey, Jr. is saying it because he’s out promoting Tropic Thunder which opens today. Or maybe he said it because he’s bitter that his summer superhero flick, Iron Man, was the toast of the town until The Dark Knight arrived. Or maybe Robert Downey, Jr. was just being completely honest. Either way, he just totally dumped all over The Dark Knight and the people who made it.

Either that, or she’s got a good staff of people who penned this humorous material that she read from a poolside lounge chair.
I’m guessing she didn’t write it.
But whatever the case, it’s damn funny. In case you missed it, John McCain’s camp made a commercial that compares Barack Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in terms of his celebrity. It caused a bit of a ruckus.
