I've been a subscriber of Amazon's MP3 newsletter for several months now. Until recently I avoided freebie tracks fearing I would get a dreadful batch, souring my taste for free music until the next edition of the newsletter arrived to my inbox. Maybe ...

Does it make sense talking about a demagogical jazzband? None the less, Ibrahim Electric must be the new Backstreet Boys.

Once upon a time there was a rumor that Amy Winehouse was to sing the theme song for the newest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Then Amy had a few, ahem, problems and that idea kind of flew out the window. Instead ...

Once upon a time, two media giants, NBC and iTunes, got upset at each other and parted ways. NBC took their content off iTunes and the fans were the ones that suffered.
Now it appears that scuffle has ended. The two parties have reconnected, made up and are now ready to move forward.
Steve Jobs told reporters the news at the big Apple “Let’s Rock!” event in San Francisco. The Office, 30 Rock, Monk, Battlestar Galactica…all of them will be back on iTunes. And now in high-definition if you so desire.

News out of New Zealand reports that Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, the comedy folk music duo behind Flight of the Conchords, will be ending their run on HBO after this upcoming second season.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to me in a way. Throughout the hilarious first season I kept wondering how they’d keep being able to write unique songs for every episode and keep them fresh.

Yes, I know there are a hundred million bands out there with upcoming albums and I don’t write about many of them, but that’s because Snow Patrol is my absolute favorite, so you’re going to get news about them.
Back in late May I let you guys know that the band was working on a new album per their website, but try as I might, more info wasn’t to be had. But now we have the album name and U.S. release date. Although I’m a bit late, as it was announced back on August 16th.

We’ve often discussed the many musical talents of Bear McCreary, mostly in relation to the wonderful work he does on Battlestar Galactica. But did you know he also does the music for one of my other favorite shows from the Sci-fi channel, Eureka?
