If you’re a games-turned-into-movies fan, and who isn’t (note the sarcasm), you’ll have reasons to be both happy and sad with this news. The popular video game series, God of War, finally has a director for the film adaptation. But it’s Brett Ratner.

Before heading out to Comic-Con, I was inundated with press releases about demos for new products that would be showcased in San Diego. One that really stood out to me was the upcoming DC Universe Online MMO from Sony Online Entertainment.
I was lucky enough to get creative director Chris Cao to show me how this amazing game will work. He is essentially in charge of what happens with the design of the game and therefore I got some good information.

We’ve already been telling you how we think Max Payne starring Mark Wahlberg actually looks pretty cool for a video-game-turned-movie. I’ve been especially impressed with the artwork that’s been coming out since the release of the almost equally cool teaser trailer. These two new posters continue the trend.

There’s not any actual footage from the movie in this trailer for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game, but the storyline of the game does follow the storyline of the film and the book so some of the elements you see in the preview are bound to be the same.

We’re in the hot days now, when thoughts turn to beaches and Batman, suntans and stoner comedies. But I’m guessing after we hit the highpoint of summer - July 18, and you know why it’s the summer’s highpoint - and start that sticky and sweaty slide down to Labor Day, we’ll start thinking more about autumn’s darker fare.
